Artists of all skill levels are invited to join Randall Graham for an afternoon exploring the human figure through the eye of Andrew Wyeth. This workshop will include a tour and discussion of the exhibit “Andrew Wyeth and Kuerner Farm: The Eye of the Earth,” followed by getting to paint or draw a live clothed model with one-on-one support from the teaching artist. Artists may work in the medium of their choice (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pen, or pencil).

Randall Graham is a local award-winning artist and instructor, known for his personal style of plein air painting. He is represented by Gallery 222 and has exhibited at Winterthur Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Museum, the Edgar Allen Poe Museum, The Art Trust Gallery & Chester County Art Association. He teaches classes at Randall Graham Studio in West Chester and at Wayne Art.

The workshop will include a lecture and demonstration, a tour of the historic property, and the opportunity to paint the scenic landscape. Artists may work in the medium of their choice (oil, watercolor, or acrylic).

Join award-winning painter Kaysha Siemens for a two-day workshop in egg tempera, the ancient medium made modernly famous by Andrew Wyeth. Kaysha will teach the basics of this incredible historical medium through painting one of her own specialties: cloudscapes. All levels of artistic experience are welcome.

The workshop will include:

- Demonstrations and one-on-one support from the teaching artist

- All the necessary art materials (easel, panel, brushes, palettes, pigments, etc.)

Each student will take home their egg tempera panel and leftover pigment mixtures that can last another week if refrigerated

- A list of resources for purchasing future egg tempera painting materials

- A guided tour and discussion of egg tempera artworks in Brandywine’s collection

- Free museum admission to explore all the other galleries 

All art materials required for the workshop will be provided, but artists are welcome to bring their own water medium brushes if preferred or photographs of clouds for inspiration. Artists may pack their own lunch or purchase from the museum’s Millstone Café.
