Virtual Talk with Victoria Wyeth: Andrew Wyeth 1999 to 2009

Join Victoria Wyeth as she shares her uniquely personal perspectives on the art of her grandfather, Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) and presents both familiar and never-before-seen work by the artist. 

In April, Victoria will explore the final decade of Andrew Wyeth’s life and career, between 1999 and 2009. This period finds the artist actively painting as he reflects on his achievements and discovers new meanings in familiar subjects. Key works from both Maine and Pennsylvania created during this period include The Carry, a 2003 tempera depicting the swift-flowing Goose River in Waldoboro, Maine and Sparks, a 2001 tempera of a lit fireplace which incorporates Wyeth’s 1975 watercolor of the Kuerner Farm at night, Wolf Moon.

The program will be held on Zoom and participants are invited to ask questions. The presentation is the same on both evenings. Limited-time viewing of the recording will be available for those who miss the live event. Proceeds support the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art.
