Virtual Gallery Talk with Victoria Wyeth: Wyeth at Kuerners

Monday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 15 at 7 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on Zoom

Join Victoria Wyeth as she shares her uniquely personal perspectives on the art of her grandfather, artist Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009).

In November, Victoria will delve into Andrew Wyeth’s exploration of Kuerner Farm, an important source of artistic inspiration for over seventy years. Kuerners is the setting for Winter 1946, painted shortly after his father’s death, The German and Spring, both portraits of farmer and soldier Karl Kuerner, as well as later work featuring model Helga Testorf, whom the artist met at the farm. Betsy James Wyeth commented on the significance of Kuerner Farm as a source of subjects for her husband: “May this experience at Kuerners increase your understanding of one man’s creative involvement with one place and may you see a little deeper beneath the surface and sense the meanings that lie hidden there.”

This program will be held online using Zoom. Cost is $25 and $20 for members.

Limited tickets are available and participants may submit questions in advance during the registration process. All proceeds support the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art.
