Hear the tales behind the trails! Brandywine Conservancy staff alongside municipal and community partners is offering a seasonal series of gentle walks to learn the behind-the-scenes actions involved in creating public outdoor community spaces. These leisurely walks held at sites throughout Chester County will highlight projects made possible through collaborative efforts and public support.

Join East Bradford Township and the Brandywine Conservancy for an interactive guided hike through Starr Farm Park, exploring the decades-long conservation journey that transformed this historic Quaker farmstead into a protected public landscape. Along the way, we’ll uncover how thoughtful stewardship, conservation easements, and community vision have preserved the farm’s agricultural heritage and open space for generations to come.

Facilitators:
Rich Phifer, Director of Property and Recreation

Susan Charkes, Former Lead Planner, Land Conservation Program

Participants should be able to walk up to 1.5 miles on unpaved surfaces with some steeper grades at a leisurely pace.
