Wednesday May 21

Other dates...

5:30 PM  –  7:00 PM

Hear the tales behind the trails! Join Brandywine Conservancy staff alongside municipal and community partners for a seasonal series of gentle walks to learn the behind-the-scenes actions involved in creating public outdoor community spaces. These leisurely walks held at sites throughout Chester County will highlight projects made possible through collaborative efforts and public support.

To celebrate National Safe Boating Week, join Brandywine Conservancy and East Bradford Township for a creek side stroll and conversation at Shaw’s Bridge Park. Learn the story behind the new canoe and kayak launch facility, from first identifying a need for easier access to Brandywine Creek, to funding, construction, and the addition of Brandywine Water Trail Wayfinding Signage. In addition, attendees will learn about East Bradford’s efforts at stewarding the resources of the park, including the implementation of a riparian buffer.

Facilitators:

Rob Daniels, Assistant Director of Community Services

Rich Phifer, Director of Property and Recreation

Participants should be able to walk up to a mile on unpaved surfaces at a leisurely pace. There are no permanent restrooms at the site. Porta toilets are available for use.
