The event is scheduled from 9:00-10:30 a.m., with three half-hour time slots to spread out the number of people in the galleries. Timeslots are flexible and visitors may stay past the end of the event, but the resources and activities will end promptly at 10:30 a.m.

Individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorder and their families are invited to join us for early access to the Museum and a variety of creative and accessible activities. Created in conjunction with local families and occupational therapists, this inclusive program strives to provide a welcoming experience through offering:

  • Pre-visit social stories
  • Reduced crowding and noise
  • Activities to meet a variety of sensory needs
  • Hands-on art activities for all developmental levels that can be completed on-site or at home
  • A sensory break area
  • On-hand support of skilled and friendly volunteers
  • Fidgets and noise-cancelling headphones

This program welcomes participants of all ages and their families (siblings welcome!).

Health and safety information: To ensure the safety of visitors, this year’s program will have a limited capacity and timed admission. Unless you are fully vaccinated, face masks that cover your nose and mouth are required (ages two and older) inside the Museum, as well as outside on campus grounds if individuals cannot maintain proper social distance from others who are not members of their household. Tactile objects will be cleaned between use. To check up-to-date safety guidelines please visit
