Join Victoria Wyeth as she shares her uniquely personal perspectives on the art of her grandfather, artist Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009).
In this talk, Victoria will explore Andrew Wyeth’s career during an eventful two-decade period in which he painted some of his best-known works, including Christina’s World, Wind from the Sea, Brown Swiss and the self-portrait Trodden Weed and experienced the trauma of his father’s sudden death. As the artist developed his mature tempera technique, he continued exploring his immediate surroundings through an often-daily watercolor practice.
Join Victoria as she shares both familiar and never-before-seen images from this fascinating period of Wyeth’s artistic development. Victoria is joined by her father, Nicholas Wyeth, who adds his perspective on his father’s art.
This talk was offered as a live program in April 2024. The recording is now available to watch for a limited time. If you have problems with registration or do not receive the link to view the program, please contact Mary Cronin at maryc@brandywine.org.
