A recording of the first part of this series originally offered as a live program in January 2024 is available for limited-time viewing. The recorded talk is available for purchase now through August 10 and may be viewed anytime until August 31, 2024.

Join Victoria Wyeth as she shares her uniquely personal perspectives on the art of her grandfather, artist Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009).

Take a deep dive into Andrew Wyeth's early work, focusing on the decade from 1935 to 1945, leading up to the death of his father, N. C. Wyeth. During these critical formative years, the artist painted still life arrangements in oil in his father’s studio, captured coastal Maine in colorful and loosely-painted watercolors, and experimented with the exacting medium of egg tempera. It was also during this time that Wyeth met Betsy James, who would become his wife and muse.

This talk was offered as a live program in January 2024. The recording is now available to watch for a limited time. If you have problems with registration or do not receive the link to view the program, please contact Mary Cronin at maryc@brandywine.org.
