Plein Air at Waterloo Mills Preserve

This event is no longer on sale.

Wednesday September 28

9:30 AM  –  2:30 PM

Artists working in all media are invited to explore, paint, sketch and photograph the Brandywine Conservancy's Waterloo Mills Preserve. This is a unique chance for both Brandywine members—and non-members—to access this private 170-acre property. In an area where many historic treasures have disappeared along with much open space, this spectacular piece of land includes wildflower meadows, fertile marshes, mature woods and over a mile of meandering creek. Thanks to the vision and generosity of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Haas in preserving this property with the Brandywine, both current and future generations to come are able to experience the pleasures of Waterloo Mills.

Participants will meet at Waterloo Mills Preserve in Devon, PA; directions will be provided upon registration. A porta-toilet is available at the site. Participants are responsible for supplying all art materials. The property is hilly with natural walking surfaces and grass can grow high at times. Participants should wear appropriate footwear and be prepared to walk on sloped surfaces.

Spaces are limited. This event is intended for artists to explore the Preserve as a place of inspiration. Model and product-based photoshoots are not permitted during this event. For more information, contact Julia Steiner at (610) 388-8354 or jsteiner@brandywine.org
