Penguin Court Book Club: "The End of Night"

Tuesday November 18

Other dates...

6:00 PM  –  7:30 PM

In November, the Penguin Court Book Club will discuss "The End of Night: Searching for Natural Darkness in an Age of Artificial Light" by Paul Bogard.

Using his personal experience, natural history, and science, Mr. Bogard casts a light on the loss of true darkness due to our artificially lit world and highlights the human experience and need for darkness.  He offers simple ways we can bring it back and notes what we can gain by doing so.

Weather permitting, after our discussion, we'll head outdoors to gaze at and listen to the darkness at Penguin Court.  Please bring a camp chair or blanket to lay on, dress in layers, a flashlight (with a red lens preferred), and bring additional blankets to stay warm outdoors.
