Participate in a relaxing combination of mindfulness and movement set in the Brandywine River Museum of Art’s contemplative video exhibition, Dylan Gauthier: highwatermarks. The speed at which we live our lives in the 21st century is staggering and 'stressed out' is the new norm for most of us. As a culture we are required to sit for a large portion of our lives and as the slogan goes, ‘Sitting is the New Smoking.’ Is there a way to sit pain-free and work on your stress levels at the same time? The answer is yes: Practicing mindfulness and movement is increasingly the solution to our stressful and sedentary existence and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Join Johnny Gillespie—founder of Empowered Yoga—for enlightened teachings on breathing techniques and movements done in a chair that can help you remove stress in the mind and the body. All levels welcome. A small reception of wine and cheese will follow the experience.
