By Design: Betsy Wyeth in Maine
Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 7 – 8 pm
Price: Pay-what-you-wish
Location: Online via Zoom
Join us online for a conversation with Curator of American Art at the Farnsworth Art Museum, Francesca Soriano, about Betsy James Wyeth’s built environments in Maine.
This talk will center on three sites around Rockland: Broad Cove Farm, the Olson House, and Southern Island. Soriano will highlight how each of these sites is an example of Betsy's unique practice, which included the restoration and adaptive reuse of historical buildings, as well as the architectural design of new structures. These distinct sites will also be connected to other areas of Betsy's creative life, including her eclectic collecting practice, passion for birding and knitting, and interest in environmental design.
The program will be held online via Zoom and the link to access the event will be sent to the email address during the pay-what-you-wish registration. Please double-check your spam/junk folder if you do not receive the confirmation email. If you encounter any difficulties in registering or accessing the Zoom link after registering, please email bgamberg@brandywine.org. The event will be recorded and shared if you are unable to attend live.
