Beauty in Blooms: A Nature Journaling Activity

Thursday August 27

Other dates...

6:00 PM  –  8:30 PM

Have you ever looked closely at a flower?  Studied how its petals lie against each other?  Notice the hairs or lack of them on its stem?  Observed pollinator interactions with these blooms?  In this hands-on workshop, local artist, Stacey Pydynkowski, will guide you through easy, approachable techniques for sketching flowers as you gather inspiration from your surroundings and watch the sun set and full moon rise at Penguin Court.  Perfection is certainly not required!  Just curiosity, pencil lines, and a love of nature.  Enjoy the calm, mindful practices of nature journaling.

This workshop will begin in Penguin Court’s gorgeous conservatory, and then participants will head outside to explore the picturesque landscape and create drawings inspired by their observations.  We’ll come together at the end to share our observations and experiences.  Sketching materials and references will be provided or you may bring your own.

Please also bring a camp chair for yourself and dress for the weather.
